What is Labor Day?
Whew! Home at last.
It’s so nice to be home after a long day at work.
I worked so much today! Work is hard!
I like my job very much, but it can still be difficult sometimes.
And on extra hard days it’s nice to
finally be home and relax.
辛苦工作後，回家休息放鬆真好
Most adults have jobs,
but not all jobs are the same.
大部分的人都有工作，但是不一定相同
Some people have jobs where they work
in an office all day.
有的人在辦公室工作。
Other people work in factories.
Some people work in shops and restaurants.
有些在工廠工作也有一些在商店或餐廳工作
There are also people who work on farms
也有在農場工作的
, or on construction sites
或工地.
There are all kinds of jobs!
And these jobs are all important.
每一個工作都很重要。
They are important because
they help people make money.
This is so they can buy things
like food and clothes,
and pay for important things like rent and bills.
上班賺的錢是來買食物跟衣服
也是要付房租跟重要的費用。
That’s why a lot of countries
around the world celebrate a day
called Labor Day on May 1.
就是勞動節。
That’s today!
“Labor” is another word for “work.”
Labor Day is a day that people celebrate
to show their thanks
for all the people who work, especially
those who work very difficult jobs.
You probably know people who have jobs.
People in your family, like your parents,
and your aunts and uncles most likely have jobs.
Maybe you even have one.
Today is the perfect day
to think about all these people who
have jobs,
especially if their jobs help make
your life easier.
It’s nice to think about
how hard they work,
and be thankful that they do
what they do.
