Pets on Taipei’s MRT
I love my dog,
he and I have so much fun together.
We like to go on long walks,
play in the park,
and go hiking together!
1.I like taking him everywhere I can with me!
我喜歡帶牠到處走!
But sometimes that is difficult to do,
because I live in Taipei City
and I don’t have a car.
So if I am going anywhere far away
and I need to take the MRT to get there,
he can’t come with me.
如果我要跑遠一點的地方，
狗狗是沒辦法跟我一起坐捷運。
2.That’s because in Taipei,
only small pets were allowed
on the MRT before.
以前只有小寵物才可以坐捷運。
But my dog is a big dog.
And big pets weren’t allowed in Taipei’s MRT stations
and trains before.
Guess what?
That rule has changed!
This year,
the government is allowing people with medium-sized
and big-sized dogs onto some parts of the MRT in Taipei.
中型跟大型寵物現在可以坐抹一些捷運了!
That’s so great!
People need to put their pets in a pet stroller,
a cage,or a box.
寵物一定要放在推車或籠子裡面喔。
Owners can also only bring their big pets
into the first or last cars of the MRT train.
But that’s no problem for me!
My dog is very well-behaved
and he’s happy when he’s sitting in his pet stroller.
我的狗很乖，他會乖乖坐在推車裡!
Right now,
3.the government is letting people try this
for six monthson the Tamsui Line，
淡水線先試辦六個月.
That’s the red MRT line in Taipei.
And people are only allowed to do this on the weekends.
目前只有淡水線先做六個而且只有周末可以喔。
I hope everyone who does this keeps their pets well-behaved
and it works well!
It would be great if the government lets people brings big pets
onto other MRT lines in the future too,
then I can really take my big dog with me everywhere I go!
