請問cram-school和cram school有差嗎.他們的意思是什麼.

我記憶中應該是不會用 cram-school 的組合

1. cram school 就是最基本的複合名詞 (N + N)
　用第一個名詞來形容第二個名詞
　EX : Taipei city (台北市) , school address (學校地址)
　　　post office (郵局) , office hour (上班時間)

　詳細可以查知識+ 關於 "複合名詞"，不贅述

2. cram-school
　會用 "-" 把兩個字串起來最有可能的用意就是要當形容詞用
　通常是一長串的字, 不加 "-" 會混淆前後文, 才把他們串起來
　代表他們是一掛的, 永不分離

　PS : 我想補習班應該不會當形容詞吧，SO理應不太會有這種型態出現

3. "-" 的用法
　EX: my six-year-old son (我六歲的兒子)
　一大串名詞擠在一起，根本不知道誰是形容誰
　因此用 "-" 串在一起，就知道是六歲來形容兒子

　EX: old car club 究竟是老車還是老俱樂部!?
　一堆名詞擠在一起一定是全部都形容最後一個字
　因此要說老車的俱樂部 => old-car club

　用法有兩點要注意
　(1) N-N
　　 就算是複數型態，也都要改成單數型態 EX: six-year(沒有s)-old

　(2) 其他詞性
　　 用 "-" 連接不只是名詞的專利，adj , adv or Ving … 均可。

    對了，至於補習班為何叫做 Cram School

    1. Cram (填鴨)
    為了加速鴨子的生長與增肥, 所採取的大量填塞餵食方法, 稱為填鴨

    2. Cram School (補習班)
    是因為現在的補習班多採填鴨式教育，不斷的塞東西給你，故稱之。(有點貶意)

    有些補習班不知道此字的原意，還大剌剌的寫自己是English Cram School
    真的是有點…..
