Polar Bear Visits City in Russia

Narrator: Hi, everyone.

Here’s a question for you:

what is the biggest bear in the world?

Do you know?

It lives in a very cold place

with lots of ice and snow – and it’s white.

Did you guess it?

Yup! It’s the polar bear!

Did you know polar bears are in trouble?

The world is getting warmer.

1.That means the ice in the Arctic is melting faster.

Less ice makes it harder for polar bears

to live and find food.

2.Polar bears walk on the ice to find seals to eat.

Did you hear that sound?

That was not a dog.

That was a seal.

Seals bark like dogs.

Now, it’s harder for polar bears to find food to eat.

3.Sometimes, they even go into towns where people live.

This happened in Russia.

The bear walked into a Russian town

when it was looking for food.

The polar bear was very hungry and tired.

People found the bear and caught it.

Luckily, the people didn’t hurt it.

They took the polar bear to a zoo.

Now the bear is safe and gets food every day.

This is not the first time a bear has gone into a city in Russia.

It has happened before.

In the past,

some polar bears went into people’s homes looking for food!

And this is very dangerous for people.

I hope the ice in the Arctic stops melting!

Or else bears will

keep walking into cities and people’s homes to find food.

And that’s not good for bears …or for people!
